This scholarship is intended to be given to a second, third or fourth-year student in good standing having financial need.  Don is clearly more interested in need than academic achievement.  If possible this scholarship should be awarded to a student who reflects Jim’s “expertise and values.”

Carmen C. Fenza Memorial Landscape Architecture Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to be given on the basis of excellence and financial need.  This scholarship guidelines read, “The purpose of this scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Department of Landscape Architecture…who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses”.  Even though the guidelines say “planning to enroll” we only have financial need information for students already enrolled.  Therefore we cannot use this for recruitment.

The H.S. Pennypacker Scholarship
Named for a 1938 alumnus of our department, this award is reserved for an undergraduate landscape architecture major who embraces the full range of educational challenges with a passion for learning, and who demonstrates the capacity for leadership.  Application by submission of an essay on a specific topic.

The Milton Berg Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to offset expenses for a landscape architecture student who secures a summer internship that will significantly broaden his/her educational experience.  Application is by letter of application from which three finalists are chosen.  Those finalists must obtain a letter of commitment from the employing office verifying the summer position or experience.  Final determination is made by a selection committee.  Financial need may be considered.
