The Stephen J Trudnak Scholarship  (the epiphany award)
This scholarship is presented to a landscape architecture student who shows extraordinary growth in commitment to his/her education and to the profession of landscape architecture.  Financial need is a secondary criterion.

The Donald Girouard Memorial Fund
In memory of Professor Don Girouard to an outstanding student.  While not specified, we may consider financial need.

The John O. Simonds Honor Award
Presented to an outstanding third or fourth year landscape architecture student who has demonstrated excellence in creativity.  While not specified, we may consider financial need.

The James Rose Center Garden Scholarship
This award is given for a specific Larch 327 garden project which possesses three qualities found in the work of James Rose: spatial clarity, responsiveness to site conditions, and expression of contemporary life.

Scholarship from Donald F. Hilderbrandt in honor of Professor Jim DeTuerk, in appreciation for his contributions to the dept. and to the profession

This scholarship is intended to be given to a second, third or fourth-year student in good standing having financial need.  Don is clearly more interested in need than academic achievement.  If possible this scholarship should be awarded to a student who reflects Jim’s “expertise and values.”       

Anonymous Donor
This endowed scholarship is the result of a contribution by John Collins.  It is intended to be given on the basis of financial need.

The RGS Associates Scholarship
Presented to a landscape architecture student who resides in east central Pennsylvania (zip codes 16000-17999), has maintained a grade point average of 2.75 or above, and has documented financial need.   Originally intended to be given to a resident of Lancaster County, the coverage has been extended to include more of east central PA.

Carmen C. Fenza Memorial Landscape Architecture Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to be given on the basis of excellence and financial need.  This scholarship guidelines read, “The purpose of this scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Department of Landscape Architecture…who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses”.  Even though the guidelines say “planning to enroll” we only have financial need information for students already enrolled.  Therefore we cannot use this for recruitment. 

The Semester Abroad Award
Presented for use during the semester abroad, to landscape architecture students entering the fourth year who have high academic achievement and demonstrated financial need.

The Ann Pellow Wagner Memorial Scholarship
Established by Harold and Lois Pellow in memory of their daughter, is presented to female landscape architecture students entering their fifth year and having an established financial need.  

Humphry Repton Creative Writing Award
Presented to a landscape architecture student for creative writing ability, determined through open competition. The fund was established by E. Lynn Miller, Professor Emeritus.

The H.S. Pennypacker Scholarship
Named for a 1938 alumnus of our department, this award is reserved for an undergraduate landscape architecture major who embraces the full range of educational challenges with a passion for learning, and who demonstrates the capacity for leadership.  Application by submission of an essay on a specific topic. 

The Milton Berg Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to offset expenses for a landscape architecture student who secures a summer internship that will significantly broaden his/her educational experience.  Application is by letter of application from which three finalists are chosen.  Those finalists must obtain a letter of commitment from the employing office verifying the summer position or experience.  Final determination is made by a selection committee.  Financial need may be considered.

The Veronica Burns Lucas Memorial Travel Award
This award is presented to a 5^th-year student based on a juried presentation of a fall 5^th-year studio project and a travel/inquiry proposal.  This award is intended to support travel during the Spring semester or the summer following graduation.
