Baird is an Alabama native, with landscape architecture degrees
from Louisiana State University and the University of Pennsylvania.
Tim's wife, Kathy, is a social worker. Their son, Taylor, is five-and-a-half
years old. Most recently, Tim was an assistant professor of landscape
architecture at Texas Tech University. He is a registered lsandscape
architect in four states, and brings over twenty-five years of national
and international design expertise through his association with
the venerable firms of Hargreaves Associates, Peter Walker and Partners,
and Hanna/Olin, Ltd. Tim played key roles on such notable projects
as the Guadalupe River Park in San Jose, California, and The Columbus
Center in Baltimore, Maryland, with Hargreaves Associates; the Vila
Olimpica in Barcelona, Spain, with Peter Walker and Partners; and
the Johnson and Johnson World Headquarters in New Brunswick, New
Jersey, with Hanna/Olin, Ltd. Tim will teach the design and implementation
studio sequence, while his scholarship will address environmental
art, stormwater management, and research as a catalyst for forging
stronger links between the academy and professional practice. |
