M.S.Wildlife Management, West Virginia University 1983
B.S. Wildlife Biology, University of Massachusetts 1981

Interests
Wetland ecology, watershed management, ecological design and restoration ecology

Andrew Cole co-teaches the first year graduate seminar in Watershed Stewardship and the second year practicum in Watershed Stewardship. He has spent 17 years working on a variety of aspects of wetlands ecology. He is a member of the Intercollege Graduate Degree Program in Ecology. His current interests include the ecology of created wetlands, wetland hydrology, and the design and management of created ecosystems. He has co-taught a Continuing Education class with Ken Tamminga on ÏPrinciples of Wetland DesignÓ. He has been involved with the Spring Creek Watershed Community since its inception in 1996 and currently works with that groups water monitoring subcommittee.

Current projects include an assessment of the requirements of Section 404 wetland permits in Pennsylvania, and their definitions of success; a long-term assessment of created wetlands at Fort Drum, NY; the relationship of surface roughness in created wetlands to function; the patterns of wetland hydrology in the Ridge and Valley Province of Pennsylvania.
