Dina (Cole) Klavon (’82)
is President of Klavon Design Associates, Inc. in Pittsburgh
(PA).
Dina's interest in design and desire to hand pick each client
lead to her starting her own business. Dina enjoys the advantages
of having a small business because she is able to collaborate
with her clients through a one-on-one basis while also providing
the advanced experience in project execution that one would
find at a larger firm.
With a focus on design, and a proficiency in project management,
Klavon Design Associates, Inc. has accumulated extensive experience
in a variety of landscape architecture services.
Through the completion of trails, streetscapes, plazas, and
parks, Dina has added a visible and vivid improvement to Pittsburgh.
Part of what makes her job so rewarding is being able to see
the immediate impact that public projects have on the local
environment such as the First Avenue Parking Garage. Klavon
Design Associates, Inc. provided the site and landscape design
for the garage and a portion of the Eliza Furnace trail. This
trail won an honor award with the American Institute of Architects
(AIA) Pittsburgh chapter, and a merit award from the American
Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), the Pennsylvania/Delaware
chapter.
Dina is a Registered Landscape Architect in Pennsylvania
(RLA) and a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects
(ASLA).
